The organiser of the UK-wide Musicmania fairs has moved to new venues and secured a new show.
With Musicmania, a fair where music fans can look to fill those gaps in their collections, returning to Leicester in September, organiser VIP-24 has also moved its Manchester and Glasgow fairs to new venues and installed a new event in Sheffield.
“The venue moves are positive as we are now more centrally located in Manchester and Glasgow. Visitor numbers, even in this economic downturn, have remained steady. Also, with the closure of many record stores, we can still offer a pretty unique service,” says show director Rob Lythall.
Along with the passing away of musicians such as the late Michael Jackson, Lythall feels his shows can offer music collectors a way to find rare items.
“Jackson’s death reminded me of when Elvis Pressley passed away back in 1977. I’m sure we will see a flurry of buying activity centred on his products. His rarest items will sky rocket in value, as they normally do when such a big artist goes to that great dressing room in the sky,” he adds.
